Huda Beauty is a brand you can hardly avoid in the beauty world. But hype is never a reason for me to buy something. I have been working with makeup for 20 years – on stage, with brides and for my own looks. Only what proves itself in real life makes it into my kit. I use these five Huda Beauty products myself, and here is my honest take on what they can do.
Easy Blur Natural Airbrush Foundation
My foundation for when I want my skin to look filtered – just in real life. The texture is light, almost like a serum, blends easily and builds from natural to medium coverage. Skin looks softly blurred, pores fade back, and you still see skin rather than a mask. Paired with the Easy Bake powder, my base lasts all evening.
- •Ideal for: normal, combination and oily skin, day and night, photos
- •My note: the shade range is wide and sorted by undertone (B = cool, N = neutral, G/W = warm). I have a warm, golden skin tone, so I go for the G shades. If your skin is very dry, prep well first, otherwise it can cling to dry patches
Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder
For me this is the brand’s highlight. The powder is very finely milled and sets under-eye concealer without leaving a grey cast. I mainly use it for baking – a generous layer that sits for a few minutes and is then swept away.
- •Ideal for: normal, combination and oily skin, long evenings, photos
- •My note: if your skin is very dry or you have fine lines under the eyes, use very little and prep your skin well first
Empowered Eyeshadow Palette
Warm bronze, brown and gold shades – exactly the colours I love for my evening smoky eye. The shades build up nicely and blend out softly. This is the palette I use for the eye in my After Dark Glam look.
- •Ideal for: anyone who loves warm, smoky eyes
- •My note: the palette sits at the higher end price-wise – it is worth it if you really wear warm tones regularly
Nude Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette
Small, handy and with everything a nude eye needs. This mini palette is my recommendation for beginners and for your handbag when you need to get ready quickly in the evening.
- •Ideal for: beginners, travel, natural looks
- •My note: there are several versions – choose the one that suits your skin tone
Lip Contour 2.0
A creamy, matte lip liner that never needs sharpening. I use it to define my lip line before gloss or lipstick goes on top – so the shape stays clean all evening.
- •Ideal for: nude lips, subtle overlining, as a base under gloss
- •My note: pick a shade close to your natural lip colour or just slightly deeper – that looks the most natural
My verdict
If you only want to try one product, make it the Easy Bake powder. For a softly blurred complexion, the Easy Blur foundation is my favourite. For warm smoky eyes the Empowered Palette is my choice, for beginners the Nude Obsessions. And I reach for Lip Contour 2.0 with almost every look.
