When I empty my handbag, you will find a little universe of beauty products inside. But there are five that always make it in there – whether I am heading to a shoot, a meeting or simply for coffee with friends. These five are my honest everyday companions, and today I am telling you why.
1. A nourishing tinted lip balm
The first thing I reach for. A tinted balm instantly gives me a groomed look without needing a mirror. It cares and colours in one step – perfect for days when things have to move fast.
My tip: choose a shade that gives your natural lips just a touch more colour. That one always looks right, even without checking.
2. Cream blush in stick form
My absolute favourite for on the go. A cream blush stick warms up the face in seconds and makes me look awake and fresh, even after a long day.
- •Dab onto the cheeks and blend with your fingers.
- •Works on the lips too for a coordinated look.
- •No brush, no mirror, no effort.
3. A reliable mascara
If I could only choose one eye product, it would be mascara. A few strokes open up the eyes and make the whole face look more awake. I always carry one for small touch-ups.
My tip: pull the wand through your lashes in a slight zigzag – it prevents clumps and adds more volume.
4. Blotting papers against shine
Under lights or on warm days especially, shine builds up quickly on the forehead and nose. Instead of adding more powder and making the skin look heavy, I simply blot the shine away with a blotting paper. The skin stays fresh, the make-up intact.
5. A small parfum rollerball
Scent is part of the look for me. A rollerball of my favourite perfume takes up almost no space and makes me feel complete before an important moment. A quick swipe on the wrist – and I feel ready.
Why these five
All of these products have one thing in common: they need neither mirror nor tools and work in seconds. For me it is not about applying a full face of make-up on the go, but about feeling fresh and confident with just a few movements. That is exactly the heart of my beauty philosophy: less, but the right things.
