Golden Leopard Glam: Halloween Make-up with Gold Leaf
By Miriam Olivia · October 30, 2026

Halloween is tomorrow. Not into blood? Me neither, at least not every year. So here's the other side: a golden leopard. A little wild, a lot of gold, and you still look like you.
The best part: the spots are just dots and little brackets. Even if your hand shakes, it works. Leopards aren't symmetrical either.
What you'll need
- •A black or dark brown eyeliner pencil or liquid liner for the spots
- •Gold glitter eyeshadow and a black shadow for the outer corner
- •A black matte lipstick
- •Gold leaf flakes for make-up, plus something to stick them on
- •Lashes, if you like
- •Your usual base: foundation, concealer, bronzer
How to do it
1. Base and bronze. Even skin, a bit warmer than usual. Bronzer on your cheekbones and temples gives you that cat face straight away.
2. Gold eyes. Gold glitter all over the lid, black in the outer corner, pulled out into a wing. Lashes on.
3. The nose. Colour the tip of your nose dark and draw a thin line down to your upper lip. A few dots on the upper lip for the whiskers.
4. The spots. Start at your temple and work along the side of your face. Small brackets, open on one side, with a dot here and there. Bigger on the outside, smaller towards the middle. Then a few on your neck.
5. The lip. Black matte, nice and clean. Line it first if you've got a liner.
6. The gold. Little bits of gold leaf in your hair, along your hairline and between the spots on your neck. Less is more on the face, go wild in the hair.
A few tips from me
- •Start the spots on the side you find harder. The second side is always easier.
- •Gold leaf sticks to everything, including your fingers. Use tweezers or a slightly damp brush.
- •Keep the gold away from your eyes.
- •Taking it off: brush the gold out of your hair first, then a cleansing oil for the black lip and the spots.
